About
I’m Jack Harris. I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, a very long way from Liverpool. My love of the Beatles only arrived in my late teens and my obsession arrived after reading Mark Lewisohn’s Tune In.
I had a dream of becoming a documentarian, researching things I love, and to me there was no greater story than the Beatles, so that’s what I wanted to document. The idea of a Month in the Life series struck me as ideal. I knew the story was rich in detail, and that covering one month at a time would let me go through it step by step, comprehensively.
The idea came to me when I was living in Glasgow, Scotland, working the night shift at a hotel. The series grew in popularity quicker than I could have imagined. Now I’m honing my skills, learning how to research, edit and structure documentaries, and I feel so fortunate to have an audience that enjoys what I make.
It’s all thanks, really, to the Beatles themselves, their phenomenal story and their genuine and complex personalities.
